Rammed Earth is a masonry wall system made of compacted gravel and sand containing a small amount of clay (may contain cement or insulation depending on local requirements). The walls are stone-like, beautiful and have great environmental benefits.
Modern rammed earth walls:
- are structural and can handle massive loads
- are engineer approved, contain steel reinforcing and some cement for added stability
- can be made with insulation embedded in the wall
- can be a work of art
